Woodcut These prints were done on a piece or pieces of wood. A woodcut is a block of wood cut so that the "relieved" or uncut portion can be inked. Once inked the ink can be transferred to paper. |

Intaglio These prints were done on metal plates, a process that involves the printing of groves in the plate. The ink is placed on the plate then wiped off the flat surfaces. The ink left in the grooved surfaces can then be transferred to paper |

Mono Print These prints were done on a plastic plate (plexiglas), a process where you put ink on a plate to create an image. Once an image is created the image is transferred to paper |

Collagraph These prints were done on poster board that is built up with different layers of poster board and matte medium is used to create textures. Once an image is created the image is transferred to paper. |

Lithography These prints were done on a lithography stone, a process based on the incompatibility of oil and water. An ink that is put on a stone will only stick to the greasy surface when the stone is moistened. Once the stone is inked the ink can be transferred to paper. |
